Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, diced
  • 3 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Beef broth
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup Sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 12 ounces Egg noodles
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Step 2

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or sauté pan over medium heat.

Step 3

Add the diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes, or until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, stirring frequently.

Step 4

Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess grease from the pan.

Step 5

Sprinkle the all-purpose flour over the cooked beef and stir to combine. This will help thicken the sauce.

Step 6

Slowly pour in the beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Step 7

Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Let the mixture cook for 5-7 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.

Step 8

Reduce the heat to low and stir in the sour cream. Mix until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Be careful not to let the mixture boil, as it may cause the sour cream to curdle.

Step 9

Add the cooked egg noodles to the skillet and toss to coat them evenly in the sauce.

Step 10

Serve the stroganoff hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
