Ingredients

  • 2 cups Whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon Semolina (sooji)
  • 1 medium, finely chopped Onion
  • 2 finely chopped Green chilies
  • 2 tablespoons, finely chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon, or to taste Salt
  • 3 tablespoons Oil
  • 0 As required Water
  • 0 As required Oil or ghee for cooking

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and semolina.

Step 2

Add finely chopped onion, green chilies, and coriander leaves to the mixture.

Step 3

Mix in the cumin seeds, carom seeds, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt.

Step 4

Add 3 tablespoons of oil to the mixture and mix well until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.

Step 5

Gradually add water, little by little, and knead into a firm dough. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes.

Divide the dough into small equal portions and shape them into balls.

Roll each ball into a thick disc of about 5-6 inches in diameter using a rolling pin. Use a little flour for dusting if needed.
