Ingredients

  • 24 pieces Wonton wrappers
  • 0.5 pounds Ground pork
  • 2 stalks Green onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger (minced)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 6 cups Chicken broth
  • 2 cups Water
  • 2 heads Baby bok choy (halved)
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce (for broth)
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil (for broth)
  • 2 stalks Green onion (sliced, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, finely chopped green onion, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced ginger, and salt until well mixed. This will be your wonton filling.

Step 2

Place a wonton wrapper on a flat surface. Add about 1 teaspoon of the pork filling to the center of the wrapper.

Step 3

Lightly wet the edges of the wrapper with water using your finger, then fold the wrapper in half diagonally to form a triangle. Press the edges together to seal.

Step 4

Bring the two opposite corners of the triangle together to form the classic wonton shape and press to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.

Step 5

In a large pot, bring chicken broth and water to a gentle boil over medium heat.

Step 6

Add the soy sauce and sesame oil to the broth for seasoning.

Step 7

Carefully drop the wontons into the simmering broth and cook for 5-6 minutes, or until the wontons float and the filling is fully cooked.

Step 8

Add the halved baby bok choy to the soup during the last 2-3 minutes of cooking, allowing them to soften slightly.

Step 9

Taste and adjust the seasoning with more soy sauce if needed.

Step 10

Ladle the wonton soup into bowls and garnish with sliced green onions. Serve hot and enjoy!
