Ingredients

  • 750 ml red wine (dry or semi-sweet)
  • 240 ml orange juice
  • 120 ml brandy
  • 60 ml simple syrup (or honey for a natural option)
  • 1 whole orange
  • 1 whole lemon
  • 1 whole lime
  • 1 whole apple
  • 1 cup mixed berries (optional, such as strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries)
  • 240 ml club soda or sparkling water
  • 2 cups ice (for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Wash and slice the orange, lemon, lime, and apple into thin rounds or wedges (leave the peel on for added flavor and color).

Step 2

In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, orange juice, brandy, and simple syrup. Stir well to combine.

Step 3

Add the sliced fruits and mixed berries (if using) into the pitcher. Gently muddle the fruit with a wooden spoon to release some of their juices.

Step 4

Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1–2 hours, or ideally overnight, to allow the flavors to meld together.

Step 5

Right before serving, add the club soda or sparkling water to the sangria and stir gently.

Step 6

Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the sangria over the ice, making sure to include some of the fruit in each glass.

Step 7

Garnish with additional slices of fruit if desired, and serve immediately. Enjoy!
