Ingredients

  • 1 pound Large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 4 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 0.5 cup Dry white wine (or chicken broth)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh lemon juice
  • 0.25 teaspoon Red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0 Cooked pasta or crusty bread for serving (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season them with salt and black pepper.

Step 2

In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter with the olive oil over medium heat.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the pan, stirring for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Step 4

Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until pink, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes on the other side. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside.

Step 5

Pour the white wine (or chicken broth) and fresh lemon juice into the skillet, stirring to deglaze the pan and scrape up any browned bits. Let the liquid simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.

Step 6

Reduce the heat to low and stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter until melted and the sauce becomes velvety.

Step 7

Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat them in the sauce. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and adjust seasoning with additional salt or pepper if needed.

Step 8

Serve hot over cooked pasta or alongside crusty bread to soak up the sauce. Enjoy!
