Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 0.75 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary
  • 2 tablespoons extra olive oil (for cooking)
  • 0 flaky sea salt (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and sea salt.

Step 2

Slowly pour in the water and olive oil. Mix with a wooden spoon until the dough starts to come together.

Step 3

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead it for about 2-3 minutes, or until smooth.

Step 4

Chop the fresh rosemary finely and knead it into the dough so it's evenly distributed.

Step 5

Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each one out into a thin round or oval, approximately 1/8-inch thick.

Step 6

Heat a large nonstick skillet or cast-iron pan over medium heat and add a drizzle of extra olive oil.

Step 7

Place one piece of flatbread into the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until bubbles form and the underside has golden brown spots.

Step 8

Flip the flatbread and cook for another 1-2 minutes on the other side until golden and cooked through. Adjust the heat as needed so it doesn't burn.

Step 9

Remove the flatbread from the pan and repeat with the remaining pieces, adding a bit more olive oil between batches if necessary.

Step 10

Sprinkle the finished flatbreads with flaky sea salt for an extra burst of flavor (optional). Serve warm or at room temperature.
