Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter (cold)
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.75 cup Milk
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder (for topping)
  • 3 tablespoons Unsalted butter (melted, for topping)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder.

Step 3

Using a pastry cutter or your fingertips, cut the cold butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 4

Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese, ensuring it is evenly distributed.

Step 5

Gradually add the milk to the dry mixture, stirring gently with a spoon until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the dough.

Step 6

Scoop heaping spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each biscuit.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.

Step 8

While the biscuits are baking, mix the melted butter, 0.5 teaspoon of garlic powder, and chopped parsley in a small bowl.

Step 9

As soon as the biscuits are out of the oven, generously brush the tops with the garlic butter mixture.

Step 10

Serve the biscuits warm and enjoy their melt-in-your-mouth texture and savory flavor.
