Ingredients

  • 1 piece Egg
  • 2 slices Bread
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Black pepper
  • 1 slice Cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Mayonnaise

Directions

Step 1

Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and add half of the butter to the pan.

Step 2

Once the butter is melted and sizzling, crack the egg into the skillet and sprinkle with a pinch of salt and black pepper.

Step 3

Cook the egg for about 2-3 minutes until the white is set and the yolk is cooked to your preferred doneness. Flip the egg gently if you prefer an over-easy or over-hard egg.

Step 4

Remove the cooked egg from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

Step 5

Spread mayonnaise onto one side of each bread slice.

Step 6

Add the remaining butter to the skillet and place the slices of bread in, mayonnaise-side up. Toast for about 1 minute until the bottoms are golden and crisp.

Step 7

Place the slice of cheddar cheese on one slice of bread while still in the skillet so it begins to melt slightly.

Step 8

Remove the bread slices from the skillet. Place the fried egg on top of the bread with the melted cheese and cover with the second slice, mayonnaise-side facing in.

Step 9

Cut the sandwich in half if desired and serve immediately.
