Ingredients

  • 4 slices sliced bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.5 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 0 for serving maple syrup (optional)
  • 0 for garnish powdered sugar (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a shallow bowl or pie dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and sugar until fully combined.

Step 2

Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and let it melt, ensuring the pan is evenly coated.

Step 3

Dip one slice of bread into the egg mixture, making sure both sides are well coated but not overly saturated.

Step 4

Carefully place the coated slice onto the preheated skillet. Repeat with additional slices, cooking as many as can comfortably fit without overcrowding.

Step 5

Cook each slice for 2 to 3 minutes on one side, or until golden brown. Flip and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes on the other side.

Step 6

Transfer the cooked French Toast to a serving plate and cover lightly with foil to keep warm. Add the remaining tablespoon of butter to the skillet if needed and repeat with the remaining slices of bread.

Step 7

Serve warm with maple syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar if desired.
