Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 pieces Tortillas (10-inch)
  • 2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.25 cup Pickles (optional, chopped)
  • 0.25 cup Ketchup (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Mustard (optional)
  • 2 tbsp Butter or oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up into small pieces with a wooden spoon, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 2

Season the cooked beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine and cook for another 1-2 minutes to let the flavors meld. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 3

Preheat another large skillet or griddle over medium heat.

Step 4

Spread about 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over one side of a tortilla. Add a layer of cooked ground beef, about 1/4 of the mixture, evenly distributed. Sprinkle a few chopped pickles, drizzle ketchup and mustard if using, and top with another 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.

Step 5

Place a second tortilla over the top to create a quesadilla sandwich.

Step 6

Add a small amount of butter or oil to the preheated skillet and carefully place the prepared quesadilla in. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the tortilla is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted.

Step 7

Transfer the cooked quesadilla to a cutting board and let it cool slightly before cutting into wedges.

Step 8

Repeat the process with the remaining tortillas, cheese, and beef mixture.

Step 9

Serve warm with additional ketchup or mustard for dipping, if desired.
