Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 0.5 cup Yellow onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 cup Shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 12 pieces Corn tortillas
  • 1 cup Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • None Optional toppings (sour cream, guacamole, salsa, etc.)

Directions

Step 1

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 2

Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

Add the diced onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté for 2–3 minutes until they soften and become fragrant.

Stir in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and cook for 1 more minute.
