Ingredients

  • 500 grams Silverbeet (Swiss chard), chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 200 grams Feta cheese, crumbled
  • 150 grams Ricotta cheese
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh dill, chopped (optional)
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 300 grams Shortcrust pastry (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

Step 2

Wash the silverbeet thoroughly and chop it into small pieces, discarding any tough stems.

Step 3

Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté for 5 minutes until softened and fragrant.

Add the chopped silverbeet to the pan and cook for 5-7 minutes until wilted. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked silverbeet mixture, crumbled feta, ricotta cheese, eggs, parsley, dill (if using), salt, and black pepper. Mix until evenly combined.
