Ingredients

  • 200 grams Ground pork
  • 100 grams Shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped
  • 20 pieces Wonton wrappers
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, freshly grated
  • 2 tablespoons Green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 piece Egg white
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon White pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Carrot, finely grated (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped shrimp, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, chopped green onion, cornstarch, egg white, salt, and white pepper. Mix well until thoroughly combined and the mixture becomes slightly sticky.

Step 2

Place a wonton wrapper on a clean work surface. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the filling into the center of the wrapper.

Step 3

Gather the edges of the wrapper around the filling, gently pressing them against the filling to form a round dumpling with an open top. Smooth the top surface of the dumpling, leaving a small hole at the top for steam to escape.

Step 4

Lightly press some grated carrot on the top of each dumpling for garnish.

Step 5

Prepare a steamer by lining it with parchment paper or cabbage leaves to prevent sticking. Arrange the dumplings in the steamer, leaving space between each one.

Step 6

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Place the steamer over the pot, ensuring that the water does not touch the dumplings.

Step 7

Cover the steamer and steam the dumplings over medium heat for 10-12 minutes, or until the filling is cooked through and firm.

Step 8

Remove the dumplings from the steamer and serve hot with your preferred dipping sauce.
