  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 0.5 teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 stalks scallions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 2 cups white or jasmine rice (for serving, optional)

Directions

Step 1

Begin by preparing all the ingredients. Trim the ends of the green beans and cut them into 2-inch pieces. Peel and devein the shrimp, and pat them dry with paper towels.

Step 2

In a small bowl, whisk together the Thai chili paste, soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, lime juice, and water. Set this sauce mixture aside.

Step 3

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until they turn pink and are just opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
