Ingredients

  • 16 pieces raw shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 stalks green onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons flour (for dusting)

Directions

Step 1

Place the shrimp in a small mixing bowl. Add soy sauce, minced garlic, sesame oil, and half of the green onions. Toss well to coat the shrimp evenly. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.

Step 2

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 3

Lightly dust your work surface with flour. Roll out the puff pastry sheet into a rectangle (approximately 12x10 inches).

Step 4

Drain the marinated shrimp and pat them dry with a paper towel.

Step 5

Lay the shrimp evenly across the puff pastry, leaving about 1/2 inch of space at one of the edges to seal the roll later.

Step 6

Roll the puff pastry tightly over the shrimp from one long side to the other, finishing at the edge left bare. Brush the edge with beaten egg to seal the roll.

Step 7

Using a sharp knife, slice the roll into 1-inch thick wheels and place them flat on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 8

Brush the tops of the shrimp wheels with the remaining beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the pastry turns golden brown and puffy.

Step 10

Remove from the oven and let the shrimp wheels cool for 5 minutes before garnishing with the remaining green onions.

Step 11

Serve warm as a delicious appetizer or snack.
