Ingredients

  • 450 grams large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 60 milliliters dry white wine
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, finely chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
  • 8 slices baguette slices, toasted

Directions

Step 1

Prepare the shrimp by patting them dry with paper towels to ensure even cooking. Set aside.

Step 2

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 3

Once the oil is shimmering, add the sliced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently, until fragrant but not browned.

Step 4

Add the smoked paprika and red chili flakes to the skillet, stirring them into the oil for about 30 seconds to release their flavors.

Step 5

Increase the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they start turning pink and opaque.

Step 6

Flip the shrimp and pour in the dry white wine. Continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the wine to reduce slightly.

Step 7

Stir in the lemon juice, parsley, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together to coat the shrimp evenly and cook for another 1 minute.

Step 8

Transfer the shrimp to a serving dish and drizzle the pan juices over them.

Step 9

Serve immediately with toasted baguette slices to soak up the flavorful sauce.
