Ingredients

  • 20 pieces Large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 whole Lemon, sliced into wedges
  • 4 cups Water
  • 1 cup Cocktail sauce
  • 0.25 teaspoons Celery salt (optional, for garnish)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Fill a medium-sized saucepan with 4 cups of water and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat.

Step 2

Add the Old Bay seasoning to the boiling water and stir until dissolved.

Step 3

Gently add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the boiling water. Allow them to cook for 2-3 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque.

Step 4

Remove the shrimp from the water using a slotted spoon and transfer them to an ice bath (a bowl filled with cold water and ice cubes) to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for 2-3 minutes.

Step 5

While the shrimp cool, prepare 10 small shot glasses (or any similar-sized serving vessel) by filling each halfway with cocktail sauce.

Step 6

Remove the shrimp from the ice bath and pat dry with a paper towel.

Step 7

Place one shrimp on the rim of each shot glass, with the tail sticking outward for easy grabbing.

Step 8

If desired, sprinkle a small pinch of celery salt over the cocktail sauce in each glass.

Step 9

Garnish with a small sprig of parsley or cilantro for a touch of color and freshness.

Step 10

Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for an extra burst of flavor.
