Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium shallot, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat until the butter is melted and the pan is hot.

Step 3

Add the chopped shallot and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened and translucent.

Step 4

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds, being careful not to burn it.

Step 5

Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2 minutes on one side, then flip the shrimp over.

Step 6

Pour in the white wine and lemon juice. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and fully cooked.

Step 7

Stir in the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter and cook for 1 minute to create a silky sauce.

Step 8

Add chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir to combine.

Step 9

Remove the skillet from heat and let the flavors meld for 1 minute.

Step 10

Serve immediately over cooked rice, pasta, or with a side of crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
