Ingredients

  • 1 pound Large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 3 Garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 0.25 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter (melted)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or oven-safe skillet with olive oil or non-stick spray.

Step 2

Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Arrange them in a single layer in the prepared baking dish.

Step 3

In a mixing bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, minced garlic, fresh parsley, dried oregano, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to evenly distribute the flavors.

Step 4

Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 2 tablespoons of melted butter, and lemon juice to the breadcrumb mixture. Stir until the mixture has the consistency of wet sand.

Step 5

Spoon the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the shrimp, pressing gently to adhere the topping.

Step 6

Drizzle the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil over the top of the breadcrumb crust to ensure a golden finish.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink, opaque, and are fully cooked through. The breadcrumb topping should be golden and crisp.

Step 8

Remove the dish from the oven and allow it to cool slightly. Optionally, garnish with additional chopped parsley or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.

Step 9

Serve hot as an appetizer or over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread for a light main course.
