Ingredients

  • 1 pound Shrimp or Scallops
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Thaw and pat dry the shrimp or scallops if using frozen. Remove any shells or veins from the shrimp, if necessary.

Step 2

Mince the garlic cloves and chop the fresh parsley. Set aside.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.

Step 4

Once the oil is hot, add the shrimp or scallops in a single layer. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side (for shrimp) or 3-4 minutes per side (for scallops) until golden and opaque. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Step 5

Reduce the heat to low and add butter to the skillet. Allow it to melt completely.

Step 6

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to let the garlic burn.

Step 7

Add the lemon juice and stir. Sprinkle in the optional red pepper flakes for a subtle kick.

Step 8

Return the cooked shrimp or scallops to the skillet and toss them in the garlic butter sauce for 1-2 minutes to heat through.

Step 9

Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Step 10

Serve immediately with crusty bread, over pasta, or alongside a fresh green salad.
