Ingredients

  • 450 g Raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 120 g Panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 stalks Green onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 large Egg, lightly beaten
  • 30 g Mayonnaise
  • 15 ml Lemon juice
  • 5 g Paprika
  • 3 g Salt
  • 2 g Black pepper
  • 30 ml Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 4 Burger buns
  • 4 Lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices Sliced tomatoes
  • 0 Optional burger condiments (ketchup, more mayonnaise, etc.)

Directions

Step 1

Roughly chop half of the shrimp and place the other half in a food processor. Blend the shrimp in the food processor until it forms a paste.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the shrimp paste, chopped shrimp, panko breadcrumbs, green onion, minced garlic, beaten egg, mayonnaise, lemon juice, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty, about the size of your burger buns. Place the patties on a plate and refrigerate for 15 minutes to firm up.

Step 4

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the shrimp patties to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and fully cooked through.

Step 5

Toast the burger buns lightly in the same skillet or in a toaster if desired.

Step 6

To assemble, place a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Add a shrimp patty on top, followed by any optional condiments of your choice (mayonnaise, ketchup, etc.). Top with the other half of the bun.

Step 7

Serve the shrimp burgers immediately and enjoy!
