Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 oz lump crab meat
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 0.5 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.25 cup parmesan cheese, grated (optional)
  • 12 oz linguine or spaghetti, cooked and drained

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the linguine or spaghetti according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the butter and let it melt, stirring gently.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned.

Step 4

Stir in the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp and set aside.

Step 5

Pour the white wine into the skillet and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom. Let the wine simmer for 3-4 minutes to reduce slightly.

Step 6

Add the lemon juice, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine.

Step 7

Gently stir in the lump crab meat, being careful not to break it apart too much. Cook for 1-2 minutes to warm the crab through.

Step 8

Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, along with the drained pasta. Toss everything together to coat the pasta in the sauce. If the sauce seems dry, add a few tablespoons of the reserved pasta water as needed.

Step 9

Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the dish and toss again. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Step 10

If desired, sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over the top before serving.

Step 11

Serve the Shrimp and Crab Scampi immediately, garnished with extra parsley or lemon wedges if desired.
