Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (minced)
  • 0.5 teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

Step 1

In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, cornstarch, and water until combined. Set aside.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Step 3

Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with a pinch of salt and black pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet. Toss in the minced garlic, ginger, and red chili flakes (if using). Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 5

Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until they are crisp-tender.

Step 6

Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and pour in the prepared sauce mixture.

Step 7

Stir everything together and cook for another 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the shrimp and broccoli evenly.

Step 8

Remove from heat and serve immediately over rice or noodles, if desired.
