  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 2 cups Salsa (your favorite brand or homemade)
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Pat the beef chuck roast dry with paper towels and season it evenly on all sides with salt, black pepper, ground cumin, garlic powder, and onion powder.

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Sear the beef roast on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Transfer the seared beef to a slow cooker (or large Dutch oven if cooking on the stovetop).
