Ingredients

  • 2 racks Pork baby back ribs
  • 2 tablespoons Smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1.5 teaspoons Liquid smoke
  • 2 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup Barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.

Step 2

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs by sliding a knife under it and pulling it off with a paper towel for grip.

Step 3

In a small bowl, mix together smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and olive oil to form a paste.

Step 4

Rub the spice paste evenly over both racks of ribs, ensuring they are fully coated.

Step 5

Place the seasoned ribs on the prepared baking sheet, meat side up. Add liquid smoke and apple cider vinegar to a small dish and place it on the tray next to the ribs to create a smoky aroma in the oven.

Step 6

Cover the ribs tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 2 hours, until the ribs are tender and the meat pulls easily from the bone.

Step 7

Increase oven temperature to 450°F (230°C) or set your broiler to high.

Step 8

Brush barbecue sauce generously over the ribs. Place under the broiler for 4-6 minutes, until the sauce caramelizes and bubbles slightly. Watch carefully to avoid burning.

Step 9

Let the ribs rest for 5 minutes before slicing them into individual servings. Serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side if desired.
