Ingredients

  • 500 g Brussels sprouts
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 1.5 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 0.25 tsp Crushed red pepper flakes

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any discolored outer leaves. Slice the sprouts in half lengthwise.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 0.5 teaspoon of black pepper until evenly coated.

Step 4

Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet and roast for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crisp on the edges.

Step 5

While the Brussels sprouts are roasting, prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons of honey, 1.5 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar, 2 minced garlic cloves, and 0.25 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes.

Step 6

Once the Brussels sprouts are done roasting, transfer them to a large skillet over medium heat. Pour the sauce over the sprouts and toss to coat evenly. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly and clings to the sprouts.

Step 7

Remove from heat, transfer to a serving dish, and enjoy Sheila's Saucy Brussels Sprouts immediately!
