Ingredients

  • 4 pieces (6 oz each) salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves (minced) garlic
  • 1 whole (juiced and zested) lemon
  • 2 tablespoons (chopped) fresh parsley
  • 0.5 teaspoons paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 whole (sliced thin) lemon slices

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil.

Step 2

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place the fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 3

In a small bowl, mix olive oil, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Brush this mixture evenly over the top of the salmon fillets.

Step 4

In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30-60 seconds, until fragrant but not browned.

Step 5

Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, and chopped parsley to create the garlic-lemon butter sauce.

Step 6

Spoon half of the garlic-lemon butter sauce over the salmon fillets, spreading it evenly.

Step 7

Lay lemon slices on top of each fillet for added flavor and presentation.

Step 8

Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the thickest part of the fillet flakes easily with a fork (internal temperature should be 145°F or 63°C).

Step 9

Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for 2 minutes.

Step 10

Drizzle the remaining garlic-lemon butter sauce over the fillets before serving. Garnish with additional parsley if desired.

Step 11

Serve hot with your favorite side dishes, such as roasted vegetables, rice, or a crisp green salad.
