Ingredients

  • 1 8-ounce wheel wheel of brie cheese
  • 1 sheet (thawed if frozen) puff pastry
  • 3 tablespoons fruit preserves (such as apricot, raspberry, or fig)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (such as almonds, pecans, or walnuts)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 0 (optional, as needed) crackers or sliced baguette (for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Step 2

On a lightly floured surface, lay out the thawed puff pastry sheet. Place the wheel of brie in the center of the pastry.

Step 3

Spread the fruit preserves evenly over the top of the brie wheel. Sprinkle the chopped nuts over the preserves for a crunchy topping.

Step 4

Carefully fold the edges of the puff pastry up and over the brie, gathering and pinching the pastry together at the top to fully encase the cheese and toppings. Trim off any excess pastry if needed.

Step 5

In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to create an egg wash. Brush the egg wash evenly over the surface of the puff pastry for a golden finish.

Step 6

Place the wrapped brie onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and flaky.

Step 7

Remove the baked brie from the oven and allow it to cool for 5-10 minutes before serving. This allows the cheese to set slightly and prevents it from spilling out when sliced.

Step 8

Serve warm with crackers, sliced baguette, or fresh fruit for dipping. Enjoy this indulgent appetizer!
