Ingredients

  • 2 packs instant ramen noodles
  • 1 cup frozen green peas
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 2 stalks green onions, finely chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 4 cups water

Directions

Step 1

In a medium-sized pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.

Step 2

Add the instant ramen noodles to the boiling water and cook for 3 minutes, or according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup of the cooking water, then drain the noodles and set aside.

In the same pot, add the frozen green peas to the boiling water and cook for 2 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside with the noodles.

In a large skillet or wok, heat sesame oil over medium heat.

Step 5

Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 6

Stir in the soy sauce, reserved noodle cooking water, and optional red pepper flakes. Let the mixture simmer for 2 minutes.

Step 7

Add the drained noodles and cooked green peas to the skillet. Toss well to coat evenly in the sesame-soy sauce mixture.

Step 8

Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the noodles. Toss gently to combine.

Step 9

Remove from heat and serve immediately in bowls. Garnish with additional sesame seeds or green onions if desired.
