Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Pork ribs
  • 4 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 0.25 cup Soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup Hoisin sauce
  • 3 tbsp Honey
  • 2 tbsp Rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp Ginger, grated
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 Scallions, chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • 0.33 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

Step 2

If needed, remove the silver skin membrane from the back of the pork ribs for tender results. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.

Step 3

In a small bowl, combine minced garlic, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, grated ginger, black pepper, and water to make the marinade.

Step 4

Place the pork ribs in a large baking dish or resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the ribs, ensuring they are fully coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for more flavor.

Step 5

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. Remove the ribs from the marinade (reserving the marinade for later) and place them on the rack, meaty side up.

Step 6

Cover the ribs tightly with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 90 minutes.

Step 7

While the ribs are baking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.

Step 8

After 90 minutes, remove the ribs from the oven. Increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C).

Step 9

Brush the reduced marinade generously over the ribs. Return them to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, basting with more sauce halfway through, until the ribs are caramelized and sticky.

Step 10

Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped scallions, if desired, before serving. Enjoy!
