Ingredients

  • 500 grams carrots
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1.5 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 cup water
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 2 stalks green onions

Directions

Step 1

Peel the carrots and slice them diagonally into 1/4-inch thick coins. Set aside.

Step 2

Mince the garlic and finely slice the green onions for garnish.

Step 3

In a large skillet or sauté pan, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over medium heat.

Step 4

Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add the sliced carrots to the pan, along with 1 cup of water and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Cover the pan and let the carrots steam for 7–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender but still slightly crisp.
