Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 pieces garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 3 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 1.5 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 pieces green onions, chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 as needed nonstick cooking spray

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil and lightly spray it with nonstick cooking spray.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the marinade.

Step 3

Place the chicken breasts in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over them. Let the chicken marinate for 10-15 minutes while you prepare the coating.

Step 4

In another bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, sesame seeds, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create the crispy coating.

Step 5

Remove the chicken breasts from the marinade (letting any excess drip off) and press them into the sesame-panko mixture, ensuring each piece is evenly coated on all sides.

Step 6

Place the coated chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet. Pat any leftover sesame-panko mixture onto the chicken for extra crunch.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the coating is golden brown and crisp.

Step 8

Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 3-5 minutes before serving.

Step 9

Garnish with chopped green onions if desired and serve immediately. Pair with steamed rice, stir-fried vegetables, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
