Ingredients

  • 150 grams All-purpose flour
  • 100 grams Semolina flour
  • 25 grams Sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Sea salt
  • 50 milliliters Olive oil
  • 125 milliliters Water
  • 15 grams Extra sesame seeds for topping

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, semolina flour, sesame seeds, instant yeast, and sea salt. Mix well to evenly distribute the ingredients.

Step 2

Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Add the olive oil and water to the well. Using a wooden spoon or your hands, mix until the dough starts to come together.

Step 3

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Step 4

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rest in a warm place for 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.

Step 5

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line two baking trays with parchment paper.

Step 6

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 20 equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin stick, about 20-25 cm (8-10 inches) in length.

Step 7

Prepare a plate with the extra sesame seeds. Roll each breadstick lightly over the seeds to coat them evenly.

Step 8

Place the breadsticks on the prepared baking trays, leaving some space between each stick to allow them to expand slightly while baking.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden and crisp.

Step 10

Remove the breadsticks from the oven and allow them to cool on a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
