Ingredients

  • 30 grams Dried wakame seaweed
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Rice vinegar
  • 1.5 tablespoons Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Honey (or agave syrup for vegan option)
  • 1 teaspoon Grated fresh ginger
  • 1 Garlic clove, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (toasted)
  • 1 stalk Green onions, thinly sliced
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)

Directions

Step 1

Place the dried wakame seaweed in a large bowl and cover with cold water. Let it soak for 10 minutes, or until the seaweed has fully rehydrated and expanded.

Step 2

Once rehydrated, drain the seaweed in a colander and rinse it with cold water. Squeeze out any excess water gently with your hands.

Step 3

Chop the rehydrated seaweed into bite-sized pieces, if not already pre-cut. Set aside.

Step 4

In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey (or agave syrup), grated ginger, and minced garlic to create the dressing.

Step 5

Add the prepared seaweed to the mixing bowl with the dressing. Toss well to coat the seaweed evenly.

Step 6

Garnish the salad with toasted sesame seeds, green onions, and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes if desired for heat.

Step 7

Serve immediately or refrigerate for 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Enjoy your seaweed salad as a healthy appetizer or side dish!
