Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns
  • 0 optional toppings (lettuce, tomato, cheese, pickles, etc.)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, add ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, and paprika.

Step 2

Using your hands, gently mix the ingredients until just combined. Avoid over-mixing to prevent tough burgers.

Step 3

Divide the beef mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties approximately ¾-inch thick. Use your thumb to make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.

Step 4

Heat a large skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Lightly brush the surface of the skillet or grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Step 5

Cook the hamburger patties for 3–4 minutes per side for medium doneness, or adjust the cooking time for your desired level of doneness.

Step 6

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on top of each patty (if using), and optionally toast the hamburger buns on the skillet or grill.

Step 7

Remove the patties from the heat and let them rest for 3–4 minutes to retain their juices.

Step 8

Assemble the burgers by placing the patties on the bottom halves of the buns, then adding your favorite toppings such as lettuce, tomato, pickles, or condiments of your choice. Top with the other halves of the buns.

Step 9

Serve immediately and enjoy!
