Ingredients

  • 0.75 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cups Whole milk
  • 3 pieces Large eggs
  • 1 tablespoons Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoons Pure vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered sugar (for topping)
  • 1 cups Seasonal fruits (optional)
  • 3 tablespoons Maple syrup or fruit syrup (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Place a 9- or 10-inch oven-proof skillet or baking dish in the oven to heat up while you make the batter.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, add the all-purpose flour, whole milk, eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk vigorously until the batter is smooth and no lumps remain. Alternatively, you can blend all the ingredients in a blender for a smoother texture.

Step 3

Carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven (be sure to use oven mitts). Add the unsalted butter to the skillet, swirling it around until fully melted and bubbling.

Step 4

Quickly pour the batter into the hot, buttered skillet. Smooth it out evenly if necessary.

Step 5

Place the skillet back into the oven. Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until the pancake is puffed up dramatically and golden brown on the edges.

Step 6

Remove the skillet from the oven and allow the pancake to deflate slightly. This is normal and expected.

Step 7

Dust the pancake generously with powdered sugar and top with seasonal fruits if desired. Serve immediately with maple syrup or fruit syrup for added sweetness.
