Ingredients

  • 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 whole lemon, juiced and zested
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 teaspoons sea salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 0.25 cup white wine (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry using paper towels. Place them in a bowl and set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant, stirring frequently to avoid burning.

Step 4

Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2 minutes on one side without stirring.

Step 5

Flip the shrimp and add the smoked paprika, red pepper flakes, sea salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through.

Step 6

Pour in the lemon juice, lemon zest, and white wine (if using) to deglaze the pan. Stir to coat the shrimp in the flavorful mixture.

Step 7

Sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley over the shrimp and toss to combine. Remove the skillet from heat.

Step 8

Transfer the cooked shrimp to a serving platter. Garnish with additional parsley or lemon slices, if desired.

Step 9

Serve immediately with crusty bread, rice, or over a bed of mixed greens for a complete meal.
