Ingredients

  • 12 pieces Crab sticks
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Cornstarch
  • 1 cup Cold sparkling water
  • 1 large Egg
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 4 cups Vegetable oil
  • 2 pieces Red chilies
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons Water

Directions

Step 1

Prepare the chilli sauce by finely chopping the red chilies and garlic.

Step 2

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, ketchup, and chopped chilies and garlic.

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry.

Add the slurry to the saucepan and stir continuously until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency. Set aside to cool.

Pat the crab sticks dry using a paper towel.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
