Ingredients

  • 400 grams Sea bass fillets
  • 300 grams Raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 120 milliliters Fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 Red chili, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 small Red onion, finely diced
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 1 Avocado, sliced (optional for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the sea bass fillets under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Cut the fish into bite-sized cubes and place them in a large glass mixing bowl.

Step 2

Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the bowl with the sea bass.

Step 3

Pour the fresh lime juice over the seafood, ensuring that all pieces are submerged. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15–20 minutes, or until the seafood turns opaque, indicating it has been 'cooked' in the lime juice.

Step 4

While the seafood is marinating, prepare the other ingredients: mince the garlic, finely chop the red chili, dice the red onion, and chop the fresh cilantro.

Step 5

Once the seafood is ready, remove it from the refrigerator and drain off most of the excess lime juice, leaving just a small amount to keep the seafood moist.

Step 6

Mix in the olive oil, minced garlic, red chili, red onion, and cilantro. Stir gently to combine without breaking the fish.

Step 7

Season with salt and black pepper to taste, adjusting as necessary.

Step 8

Serve immediately in small bowls or plates, optionally garnished with fresh avocado slices for a creamy contrast.
