Ingredients

  • 4 large Eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Milk
  • 4 links Breakfast sausage
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices Sourdough bread
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Step 2

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the breakfast sausage links. Cook them for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and fully cooked. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3

In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add the egg mixture and cook, stirring gently with a spatula until the eggs are scrambled and cooked through. Remove the scrambled eggs from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

Slice the cooked sausage into small pieces and mix them with the scrambled eggs.

Step 5

Preheat a panini press or a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 6

Assemble the panini by layering the egg and sausage mixture on two slices of sourdough bread. Sprinkle cheddar cheese evenly over the mixture, then top with the remaining slices of bread.

Step 7

Brush the outer sides of the bread with olive oil to help achieve a crispy exterior.

Step 8

Place the panini on the preheated press or skillet. If using a skillet, press down with a spatula or place a heavy pan on top of the sandwich. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Step 9

Remove the panini from the heat, slice in half, and serve warm.
