  • 250 grams Rolled oats
  • 50 grams All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 50 grams Unsalted butter
  • 100 milliliters Boiling water

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) or 160°C (320°F) for fan ovens. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Place the rolled oats in a food processor and pulse a few times until the oats are slightly ground but still retain some texture.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground oats, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.

Add the unsalted butter to the dry ingredients and rub it in using your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.

Gradually pour the boiling water into the mixture, stirring with a wooden spoon until a soft dough forms. Add more water, a teaspoon at a time, if the dough feels too dry.
