Ingredients

  • 4 pieces pork cutlets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1.5 cups breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 medium lemon
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Directions

Step 1

Place each pork cutlet between two pieces of plastic wrap. Using a meat mallet, gently pound each cutlet to about 1/4-inch thickness.

Step 2

Season both sides of the pork cutlets with salt and pepper.

Step 3

Set up a breading station: place the flour on a separate plate, beat the eggs with milk in a shallow dish, and place the breadcrumbs on another plate.

Step 4

Dredge each cutlet in flour, shaking off excess. Then dip in the egg mixture, ensuring it's completely coated before allowing excess to drip off. Finally, press the cutlet into the breadcrumbs, ensuring each side is thoroughly coated.

Step 5

Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the butter to the oil.

Step 6

Once the butter has melted and the oil is hot, add the breaded pork cutlets to the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Step 7

Remove the cutlets from the pan and drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

Step 8

Serve immediately with a wedge of lemon on the side for squeezing over the schnitzel.
