Ingredients

  • 1 cup Dried apricots
  • 1 cup Dried prunes
  • 0.5 cup Raisins
  • 0.5 cup Dried apples
  • 6 cups Water
  • 1 cup Orange juice
  • 0.25 cup Sugar
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 4 Cardamom pods
  • 2 tablespoons Tapioca pearls (optional, for thickening)
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 0.125 teaspoon Salt

Directions

Step 1

Combine the dried apricots, dried prunes, raisins, dried apples, and water in a large pot.

Step 2

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes.

Step 3

Add the orange juice, sugar, cinnamon stick, and cardamom pods to the pot. Stir well to dissolve the sugar.

Step 4

If using tapioca pearls, stir them into the soup and let the mixture simmer gently for another 10–15 minutes, until the tapioca is translucent and fully cooked.

Step 5

Add the lemon juice and salt, stirring to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity as needed.
