  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1.5 teaspoons almond extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 0.25 cup slivered almonds (toasted)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of flour and 1/2 cup of cold, diced butter. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until crumbly.

Step 3

Add 2 tablespoons of cold water. Mix until a dough forms. Divide the dough in half and roll each into two long strips, about 10 inches each. Place the strips onto the prepared baking sheet.
