Ingredients

  • 500 g ground turkey
  • 60 g breadcrumbs
  • 1 piece large egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 pieces burger buns
  • 4 pieces lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices sliced tomatoes
  • 4 slices sliced cheddar cheese

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Step 2

Divide the turkey mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 1 inch thick. Ensure the patties are uniform in size for even cooking.

Step 3

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.

Step 4

Place the patties in the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side, or until nicely browned.

Step 5

Flip the patties and add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the patties reaches 165°F (74°C) and the cheese is melted.

Step 6

Lightly toast the burger buns in a toaster or on a grill for about 1 minute, until golden brown.

Step 7

Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a turkey patty, a slice of tomato, and the top half of the bun.

Step 8

Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
