Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 4 pieces Hamburger buns
  • 4 pieces Cheese slices (optional)
  • 4 pieces Lettuce leaves
  • 4 pieces Tomato slices
  • 4 pieces Pickles
  • 3 tbsp Condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, onion powder, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands or a spatula until just combined. Do not overmix.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties about 3/4-inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent puffing up during cooking.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Add the butter and let it melt to grease the surface.

Step 4

Place the patties on the hot skillet or grill. Cook for 3-4 minutes on the first side without moving them to allow a sear to form.

Step 5

Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes for medium doneness, or until they reach your preferred level of doneness. If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover with a lid to melt the cheese.

Step 6

Lightly toast the hamburger buns on the same skillet or grill during the last few minutes of cooking.

Step 7

Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked patty on the bottom bun. Add lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and any desired condiments.

Step 8

Top with the other bun half, serve immediately, and enjoy your savory hamburger!
