Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef (80% lean)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp Garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 4 pieces Burger buns
  • 4 pieces Cheese slices (optional)
  • 4 pieces Lettuce leaves
  • 4 pieces Tomato slices
  • 8 pieces Pickle slices
  • 2 tbsp Ketchup (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Mustard (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Do not overmix to avoid tough burgers.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty about 3/4 inch thick. Make a small indent in the center of each patty with your thumb to help them cook evenly.

Step 3

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly grease the surface with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Step 4

Cook the burger patties for 3-4 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (160°F for well-done as per food safety standards). If using cheese, add a slice on top of each patty in the last 1-2 minutes of cooking, covering with a lid to help it melt.

Step 5

Toast the burger buns on the grill or skillet for about 1 minute until lightly crisp and warm.

Step 6

Assemble the burgers: Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a burger patty. Top with a tomato slice, pickle slices, and any additional condiments like ketchup or mustard. Finish by placing the top half of the bun on each burger.

Step 7

Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade savory burgers!
