Ingredients

  • 1 pound Large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons Balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.125 teaspoon Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 pieces Lemon wedges

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the shrimp under cold water, then pat them dry with paper towels. Season the shrimp with salt and black pepper.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter and 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat until the butter melts and begins to bubble slightly.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, taking care not to brown it.

Step 4

Increase the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink, opaque, and cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

Step 5

Reduce the heat to medium. To the same skillet, add 3 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar, 1 tablespoon of honey, and the optional red pepper flakes if using. Stir well, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

Step 6

Allow the balsamic mixture to simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened, then whisk in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter until the sauce is glossy and smooth.

Step 7

Return the shrimp to the skillet and gently toss to coat them evenly in the buttery balsamic sauce. Cook for 1-2 more minutes to heat through.

Step 8

Sprinkle the dish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.

Step 9

Pair with crusty bread, rice, or pasta to soak up the delicious sauce.
