Ingredients

  • 0.5 pound Ground breakfast sausage
  • 6 large Eggs
  • 0.75 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 cup Chopped green onions
  • 2 pieces Premade pie crusts (or 12 mini tart shells)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

If using premade pie crusts, roll them out and cut into circles large enough to fit into a standard muffin tin or small tart pans. Gently press the crusts into the pans, trimming any excess dough. If using mini tart shells, skip this step.

Step 3

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground breakfast sausage, breaking it into small crumbles as it cooks. Cook until browned and fully cooked through. Drain off any excess grease and set the cooked sausage aside to cool slightly.

Step 4

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Step 5

Add the shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, and cooked sausage to the egg mixture. Stir until evenly distributed.

Step 6

Spoon the egg mixture into the prepared crusts or tart shells, filling each about 3/4 full. Avoid overfilling, as the quiches will puff slightly as they bake.

Step 7

Place the muffin tin or tart pans on a baking sheet for easier handling, and transfer to the preheated oven.

Step 8

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the quiches are set and lightly golden on top. You can test for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center of a quiche; it should come out clean.

Step 9

Remove from the oven and allow the quiches to cool in the pans for about 5 minutes before carefully removing them.

Step 10

Serve warm or at room temperature and enjoy!
