Ingredients

  • 6 pieces sausages (your choice of type, e.g., pork or beef)
  • 2 cups ginger ale
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or cooking oil
  • 2 stalks green onions (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or pan over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the sausages to the pan and cook for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are evenly browned. You don’t need to fully cook them at this stage, just get a good sear.

Step 3

Remove the sausages from the pan and set them aside on a plate.

Step 4

In the same pan, add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant, stirring frequently to avoid burning.

Step 5

Pour the ginger ale into the pan and stir in the brown sugar and soy sauce. Mix well to combine and let the liquid come to a gentle simmer.

Step 6

Return the sausages to the pan and reduce the heat to low. Simmer uncovered for 15-20 minutes, turning the sausages occasionally, until the liquid reduces into a thick, glossy glaze and the sausages are cooked through.

Step 7

Once done, remove the sausages and transfer them to a serving dish. Drizzle the remaining glaze over the sausages.

Step 8

Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired, for added flavor and presentation.

Step 9

Serve hot as an appetizer or alongside rice, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread for a satisfying meal.
